About The Grandview Hop
Outdoor “pop-up” vendors and food trucks line the Grandview Hop’s OPEN STREET night market along Grandview Ave, including certain side streets during each event, making it easy for you to dine, sip, stroll and shop while you hop!
The Grandview Hop is Grandview’s community night market / street festival series. Once a month from June through September, we invite the community to our OPEN STREET Night Market along Grandview Avenue. We close Grandview Avenue for pedestrians only from 1st to 5th Avenue (a half-mile long event!) for the community to enjoy an open-air market featuring more than 200 pop-up shops and 20 food trucks, along with live music, local art, charity beer garden, games, giveaways, outdoor activities, and more. In addition, the Hop offers a “Community Stroll” that allows and encourages attendees to explore more than 60 local brick-and-mortar businesses, restaurants and boutiques, many of whom offer shopping deals and late night specials!
The Hop takes place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. once a month along Grandview Avenue between 1st and 5th Avenues, with our popular open street night market featuring live music, food trucks, a charity beer garden and more. View our event map

History of the Hop
The Grandview Hop began in 2006 as a small sidewalk sale organized by neighborhood merchants. Over time, it became a monthly promotional event managed by the local Chamber of Commerce and later by Destination Grandview (the area’s Convention & Visitors Bureau).
In 2015, as the Columbus Young Professionals (CYP) Club marked its 10th anniversary, CEO Derek Grosso joined the Hop steering committee and envisioned something bigger - a full-scale open-street block party that would bring thousands of people together to celebrate local culture. That first pedestrian-only event was so successful that the CVB and steering committee voted unanimously to pass the torch to Derek and the CYP Club to lead the event’s growth as a community initiative.
From 2016 through 2023, the CYP Club developed The Grandview Hop into a three-block open-street festival series, hosted four times per year from June through September. Each event drew thousands of visitors to enjoy live music, food trucks, artists, and local businesses. Today, more than 50 brick-and-mortar merchants eagerly anticipate “Hop season,” recognizing its power to drive business visibility and economic vitality.
By 2023, the Hop’s growth demanded expansion. Working closely with both the City of Columbus and the City of Grandview Heights, the CYP Club successfully doubled the footprint for the 2024 season - creating a six-block, half-mile pedestrian experience stretching from West 1st Avenue to West 5th Avenue. This bi-municipal partnership now represents Central Ohio’s largest recurring open-street celebration, connecting residents, artists, and entrepreneurs while highlighting Columbus’ creative identity.
Community Impact
The Grandview Hop has also proudly raised more than $150,000 for local charities since 2015, including TriVillage Mentor League, Private School Pups, SEA Change/Festival for Good, ONE Grandview, Columbus Cats, Passport 2 Fashion, Wild Goose Creative, Dress for Success, Habitat for Humanity MidOhio, Ronald McDonald Charities of Central Ohio, and more.
